Brief description of the contents of the site:

 This site provides almost anything that one needs to know about learning disabilities, ranging from facts to recent research findings.  It also provides information on how parents, teachers and students can cope with learning disabilities. The organization strives to make sure that any individual with a learning disability has every chance to be successful.

The site was created by the National Center for Learning Disabilities.  It is an organization URL type.  Fred M. Poses is the current Chairman Board of Directors for the organization and he has been a member since 1999. They can be contacted through the mail at:

Objectivity
Is the purpose of the site clear, including any particular viewpoint?
Their purpose is to provide a support organization for individuals with learning disabilities, those who know individuals with learning disabilities, and those who are inquiring information about individuals with learning disabilities.  Their purpose is clearly displayed in their mission statement.  The information is factual based on research findings and collections.

Accuracy
Is the information accurate?

The facts are well documented with either a citation or links.  They also list sources of where they collected a lot of their information.  All of the information at this site goes along with the other research that I have been finding on learning disabilities also.

Currency

Is the information current?
The site has a copyright date of 1999-2005 so it appears that they make current updates regularly. 

Usability

Is the site well designed and stable?
The site it easy to navigate, with clear labels and pathways.  It has sections for teens and adults.  The pages are also quick to load and there is a user friendly menu to help return to the home page or wherever you are trying to go.  It is a very useful website.

Personal Assessment
Would you recommend this site?  Why or why not?
I would definitely recommend this website because it full of well organized and easily accessible information about learning disabilities.

This site provides information about the Learning Disabilities Association of America which strives to supply recent findings, solutions and valuable resources about learning disabilities.

The purpose of the site is clear just by looking at all of the items in the menu.  It is intended to display the information about the association and to provide an online version of it.  The factual information is targeted at parents, teachers and professionals that deal with individuals with learning disabilities.

Accuracy
Is the information accurate?
Being such a trusted and nationally known association, it safe to say that all of the information is accurate.  Citations are included with the information that was collected from outside sources.

Currency
Is the information current?
The copyright date is 2005 so therefore it was mostly likely updated recently.  Also the website posts information about current meetings that the association has, therefore they are constantly developing it even more. 

Usability
Is the site well designed and stable?
The site is very well organized and neatly presented.  There is a detailed menu that helps navigate you to the right destination based on your needs.  The pages load quickly, and there is no confusion.

Would you recommend this site?  Why or why not?
I would recommend this site also because it is very helpful and clear.  It is easy to see that it is passionate about its mission.
