The following is my thesis statement that we posted to the Group Discussion Board. I received feedback from one of my teammates.

Topic: Performance Assessments in Education

Thesis Statement: The purpose of this research paper is to determine the effectiveness of performance assessment in the classroom.

The following is the feedback that I provided to one of my teammates to help him improve his thesis statement and narrow the focus of the research paper.

You're thesis statement is great, and I like how it tells you exactly what you are going to be discussing in the research paper. The thesis is long though; does the first sentence need to be included as the thesis?
