Digital
Imaging
These
digital images were taken during class time and then manipulated using a
computer program called Adobe Photoshop. This program allows you to
manipulate already created images or create new images from scratch.

This is an
image of a phone booth located on the second floor of Hawkins Hall. |
In order to
modify this image to its current state, I began by using the spherize
tool. With this tool I pulled the center of the image into itself.
Next I used the charcoal tool to provide the image's new blue sketchy
look. |

This is a
photo taken of a fire alarm also located on the second floor of Hawkins
Hall at Towson University. |
I began to
alter this image by cropping it, leaving less of the white wall visible.
In order to distort the fire alarm I used the liquefy tool. |

This last photo
was once again taken on the second floor of Hawkins Hall. It is a
picture of a Pepsi machine and a trash can. |
I began by
cropping this picture so that only the Pepsi machine is visible.
In order to distort the colors of the image I used the emboss tool in
Adobe Photoshop. |
Digital Archiving is
the process of taking images and saving them digitally. These images can
be saved on a computer hard drive, on a disk, or even on the internet.
Digital Archiving is becoming a 'hot topic' because it is transforming the way
people are storing their personal photos. People are no longer creating
paper copies of their family photos, but are now uploading their images to the
internet for their friends and family to see.
