Digital Photography

Objective The history of students' own local community and how communities in North America varied long ago. The student understands history or his or her local community.

Presentation Description This is a presentation of children exploring the American Revolution and "promoting true patriotism and love of country" in their local community. They have discovered the significance in the fight for independence and "just as the boys and girls of 1776 had a definite work to do for their country so we have a definite work to do for ours."

How can I use Digital Photography in my classroom?

As a history teacher, I can use Digital Photography to create a slideshow of pictures of locations around the world.  I can open a "virtual classroom" of pictures and videos of historic places, landmarks and events where my students will be able to view the locations of famous historical events.  I will also be able to create a slideshow of pictures of a field trip location. This will allow students to have a background of visual information before going on the field trip. After the field trip, we will be able to use the pictures discuss what we observed and learned on the trip.
