.: (monday, Nov. 19) - Youth Post

I got the footage back for Youth, and it looks fantastic. I couldn't be more pleased. Everybody performed wonderfully, cast and crew... I've never before looked forward to editing this much! I'll have a rough cut done by tomorrow (long hours), but the finished product won't be ready until a month from now. I'll keep everybody alerted to progress as key steps are made.

(I'm currently in the process of catching up these updates to the present day... I've done alot since July! Someday, this gap will fill in!)

.: (sunday, Jul. 1) - Acting Cupid, Day 3-4

First of the two-day weekends... I really got to flex my lighting muscles this shoot. Got to light a bar: Red Maple. I was pretty happy about it with a couple of exceptions. Almost lit our lead actor on fire, that's a story he's going to tell for a long time. He was a good sport about it, probably because I was closer to the fire than he was. Also lit a beautiful morning bedroom scene. Drury used the Redrock adapter on his DVX rig for this scene, and the resulting images were spectacular.

.: (sunday, jun. 24) - Acting Cupid, Day 2

Had car trouble today and missed the first setup. The rest of the day was exteriors, so not much to do there but try to augment the image with a bounceboard.

.: (sunday, jun. 17) - Acting Cupid, Day 1

Had my first day on set of Acting Cupid today. We shot an exterior on Federal Hill and some interiors that I got to have a little fun with. One shot was a dolly-out, which presented problems I've not had to address before. Dru was pleased with the result, and the raw footage is now up on his website.

.: (thursday, jun. 6) - Acting Cupid

Got a message from one of my professors, Cary Anderson, about a short he wrote that's nearing production. Acting Cupid is a romantic comedy about a guy who gets the power to make people fall in love with a snap of his fingers. They still needed a gaffer, so I volunteered. It'll be a 6-day shoot spread out over several weekends in June and July.

.: (sunday, jun. 2) - LTYD Update

I just received a message from Perry Kroll that the footage for Live 'Til You Die has been logged, and it looks great.

.: (tuesday, apr. 26) - Back

I've learned more in the past four days than I have in the past two years. This is how one gets the best film education: by doing.

.: (wednesday, apr. 18) - Live 'Til You Die

Tomorrow marks the start of production on the NYU advanced project Live 'Til You Die, a film that combines 1980s action parody with multiple levels of self-reflexivity to get alot of laughs and provide a few thoughtful comments on society. I'll be acting as the 2nd AC for the whole production (which wraps april 23) and the 1st AC for half of it. I'll let you know how it goes.

.: (sunday, feb. 11) - Sneak Peek

Planning/preproduction has begun for Darklands, another Dreamchaser/Bullfrog collaboration. It is our most ambitious undertaking to date. Today I'm uploading a few shots from the conceptual art as a preview for what will hopefully be much greater things to come in the next two years.
