Industry Standards     The horticulture industry is a very broad industry.  In the education process for teaching horticulture there are no specific state guided standards or curriculum in Maryland.  In lieu of curriculum and standards we use specs from the horticulture industry.  The MD Nursery and Landscape Association is the #1 group for these standards.  They delegate what information should be know for someone to succeed in the industry.  There is a test given by the company each year to provide a chance to become a Certified Professional Horticulturalist (CPH).  Soon coming is the student based CPH exam that will allow high school students to graduate from high school with a pre-horticulture degree.
