About the Project

Unsung Pieces of a Baltimore Scene was created as a multimedia project for Writing for New Media (Towson University's MCOM407) by Ashley Vincent. The project was inspired by Rolling Stone naming Baltimore the Best Scene in 2008. Granted, the project was begun a year later (in February 2009) and the stories became more related to why the scene deserved the title and the results of the media attention that came after.

About the Reporter

Ashley Vincent has some bad timing. She is a senior at Towson University, majoring in Mass Communications under the Journalism and New Media track. Although she doesn't have immediate plans for post-graduation, she is always looking and hoping to do a little freelance from where ever she ends up in her anticipated travels.

She has come to learn a lot about Baltimore City and its music and arts scene and feels that there is plenty more she could uncover given the time and resources she's gained through the project.
