This website is dedicated to all the
Hazara men, women and children living around the world. My purpose for
this website is to tell the world about the Hazara people: their
history, their culture, and their suffering…past and present. This
website will be dedicated to raising and maintaining an awareness of the
Hazara ethnic group. I intend for this site to serve as a beacon of hope
and a shining light for the future of all Hazaras, especially Hazara
women. I also intend for it to serve as a reminder of the history of
darkness under which many Hazaras have suffered and died over the last
two centuries because of their ethnicity and religion. I hope to educate
those who have never heard of the Hazaras and to provide historical and
cultural information to those who wish to learn more. My main focus will
be to examine Hazara women lives, struggles and oppression. I wish to
specifically educate the world about the dual oppression of Hazara
women, and their dual identities.
This website is the first step in a series of activities and
projects that I am working on or have completed. I have successfully
written a master’s thesis on Hazara Women Identities and Oppression. I
have completed a 12 minute documentary film titled the Oppression of
Hazara in Afghanistan. I am working on a second documentary film on the
Dual Oppression of Hazara Women. I am continuing my activism to bring
the plight of the Hazara women to the world’s attention by lecturing and
writing. Links to my thesis, films and online video work can be found on
this website. I will also be posting my academic papers as references
and resources for those who wish to review them. As I move forward on my
projects, I will continue to add to the information and links contained
here.
