Video Art!

I chose Video Art as my topic. My team mates are Tim and Andrew. Video Art began in 1965 when Nam June Paik recorded and later showed Pope John Paul II's visit to New York. Presently, video art is a medium that beckons to us everywhere.

I chose to focus on one particular artist that interested me most. Pipilotti Rist is a Swedish video artist in her mid-to-late thirties. Her two main influences are feminism and popular culture. Many of her well known pieces are based on popular male songs. Two of her most well known pieces are I'm Not the Girl That Misses Much, in which she covers the Beatles' Happiness is a Warm Gun, and I'm a Victim of This Song, in which she covers Chris Isaac's Wicked Game.
