In 1955, the Tweed Valley Banana Festival was held for the first time with the slogan -"Hungry feelin' -start peelin' ".Today the festival isone of the much-anticipated events on the region's calendar with the street parade, festival queen quest and other ancillary activities still proving very popular. The Murwillumbah Banana Festival celebrates the unique features, culture and produce of the Tweed Valley. A spectacular street parade of over 100 floats kicks off the award winning Tweed Valley Banana Festival. Ten days of activities 120 including fun events such as the World Case Packing Championships and other banana-related events plus various sporting competitions, concerts and exhibitions The festival is designed to promote the Tweed Valley and to bring industry and community together
