Celeste Boursier-Mougenot

Celeste Boursier-Mougenot was born in Nice, France whose background is as a composer.  He describes his work at "a live sound form in constant evolution".  His works are composed of different materials from household objects to living human beings.  

The Rice Gallery exhibition of Celeste Boursier-Mougenot work displayed his three large inflatable swimming pools.  Each partially filled with water and a silent water pump.  In each pool crockery, glass goblets, and porcelain bowls of varying size and dimension were added.  Childlike and whimsical quality in this piece was to emphasize the simple visual pleasures and ornate atmosphere of sounds.
