art765 design for the www

indexphotographytourism

This is my second semester in the Interactive Media Design certificate program at Towson University. I graduated a year ago from TU with a bachelor's degree in anthropology, focusing on visual and media studies. Since I was an undergraduate, I have been working in the University Relations department at TU as a web content/editorial assistant, and chose the IAMD program to enhance my skills in web design. I built my first personal website back in 1997 when I was in middle school, using tripod's free service. Back then all I knew was basic HTML and used templates provided to assist me with coding that was beyond my knowledge, like making frames and tables. At TU, I edit webpages using Contribute, which does not involve any coding. I also have experience optimizing photographs and graphics for the web using Photoshop. In the last year, I have started using Dreamweaver, which I used to build a site to showcase my work from the IAMD program using my Tiger webdisk account. This summer I started to play around with Fireworks, and am in the process of re-designing my Tiger student website, as well as building my first major "professional" personal website. I have minimal knowledge of CSS - I understand how it works in theory, but I'm still trying to get it down in practice. I've been experimenting with CSS and templates in Dreamweaver, but have yet to come up with anything solid yet for publication on the web. However, I did recently create my first functioning CSS style sheet from scratch and was rather proud to see it in my browser preview!
