Subject Re: Are We Over Connected?

Are we over connected?  I think that this depends on the person.  You don't have to be "over connected" if you don't want to.  What I mean is that if you don't feel like checking your email or signing on to instant messenger, then don't.  I don't really think it's a bad thing.  Some of my very good friends live in other countries and the only way I can communicate with them is through email, messenger, and sometimes the phone.  Since they live so far away, face to face interactions are simply impossible except in the summer when I travel and go visit them.  Without these online connections, I wouldn't be able to keep in touch with them.  They are a big part of my life and not being able to talk with them on at least a weekly basis would affect me.  Of course I prefer face to face interactions as opposed to through the internet, but since I have no other option, I'm just going to have to deal with it.

Subject Re: The Troubles with Technology

Well Candice, I can relate to the stressing out about taking a technology course.  I use my computer at least once a day to check email and chat with my friends online, but I wouldn't exactly call myself technologically savvy.  In fact, I learned not too long ago what a memory stick was and how to save information on it.  My abilities on using the computer go as far as using a word processor, checking my email, chatting, and using a search engine to do research for a project.  Anything more complicated than that, and I need to call my younger brother for help, which, needless to say, annoys the heck out of him.  I must say though, since I purchased my iPod mini, I have become a little more familiar with the "more complicated stuff" such as searching the computer for files and such.  I guess I have a long way to go, but for now, I think I know all I need to know.
