I couldn't sleep last night. I think it was because I was listening to a lot of Jenny Lewis and Rilo Kiley. Man, she can sing, but boy is it ever sad to hear. I think I've been obsessing about one of her songs called "Teenage Love Song". No joke, that song will bum you the hell out...it bummed me out so bad that I blogged it up all melancholy style on the ol' myspace page. I liked the writing though. I think it sounds crisp and beautiful, albeit a lonely third person narration of a piece of my weekend. Note that I'm becoming more sexual in my writing too...I used to be really uncomfortable about such things, but I'm finding it easier to express myself.
Anyhow, I totally shaved my beard and cut my hair this past weekend. I do that a lot...grow it all out and then cut it all off. It's my own little version of death and rebirth...constantly swapping images.
The band recorded some more this past weekend, and I'll probably do even more on Saturday...put some clean bass tracks down over top of the scratch tracks. If all goes well, this demo might actually come together sooner than we all think. (Hell, I'm pushing for it).
What up with Facebook? They publicize your every friggin move now! Ridiculous. God help the day I write some kinky love note to a chick...all my friends will find out when they log in. I'm damn close to dropping facebook over this shit. It wasn't enough to be a cool digital yearbook...they went and turned themselves into some communications internet magazine, publishing all the latest gossip (who had a relationship status, who joined what group, who wrote on whose wall...etc.) Friggin ridiculous.
